For $25 per month, you can help create a better future for a child in Haiti.
The Haiti Child Sponsorship Program serves over 1,200 children of Pele, one of the poorest areas in the hemisphere’s poorest country. There is no other school in Pele and food is scarce. The Good Shepherd School (or École Baptiste Bon Berger in Haitian Creole), which receives all of its funding from Child Sponsorship, provides a glimmer of hope to an utterly impoverished community.
The earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010, damaged or destroyed much of our school. Two years after the earthquake, we continue to provide food, water, and education to as many students as possible. Students are being taught under tarps and temporary structures. With the help of a non-profit architecture design firm, rebuilding has begun. Click here for the latest reconstruction updates.
Once rebuilt, the Good Shepherd will continue and expand its mission to provide a quality education from Haitian teachers, basic health care, and one hot meal per day to its students––for many, their only meal. We are dedicated to fulfilling Christ’s call to serve “the least of these.”
Please consider becoming a sponsor online today or making a one-time donation toward rebuilding the Good Shepherd School.
